There must be something in the water because everyone has baby news. Three of my girlfriends announced in the last month that they are pregnant! I love babies and I love baby news. I get so excited for all of the amazing changes that are about to happen in their lives. And I am even more excited for the super fun baby showers we’ll soon be planning!
Personally, I like the idea of co-ed baby showers. Just because the Dad isn’t the one giving birth, doesn’t mean he shouldn’t be just as excited about the bassinet and diaper genie they’ll get as gifts. He’s going to come to appreciate them too! Also a lot more men are becoming the primary care giver in the household. I think it’s a celebration to be shared together.
That said, it’s also fun to be a bit girlie when it comes to baby showers (whether you’re expecting a boy or a girl). One of my oldest and dearest friends from New York was blessed with twin girls recently. Jillian is a girly girl if ever there was one, and I love her for it. These photos ran in last month’s Santa Barbara magazine and made me think of Jillian … and wish that I had been in New York to plan this shower for her.
