WINE COUNTRY VENUE: HOTEL CORQUE

The Hotel Corque in Solvang is situated smack in the middle of wine country -- with all of the beauty of the valley and all of the creature comforts of a luxury hotel. The hotel is available for weddings and events, and offering group rates on hotel rooms year round, it's also a great bet for out of town guests.

If you prefer to do everything in one place, there is a patio available for wedding ceremonies. Or if you have your heart set on a winery wedding but cannot afford the hefty site fees ... have your ceremony at the nearby Old Mission, Alisal Ranch or one of the wineries willing to do ceremonies only (i.e. Lincourt, Foley, Larner, Firestone) and then return to the Hotel Corque for a first class reception.

Adjacent to the ballroom is the hotel's Restaurant 246, featuring celebrity chef Bradley Ogden. The lounge above is part of the restaurant's bar and can be rented out as a lounge for your event. The white curtains in the back of the photo, pull back to open into the ballroom pictured above.

For smaller groups or rehearsal dinners, the restaurant - or parts of the restaurant may also be rented out.

The scoop for the Ballroom:
- The ballroom seats up to 250 for dinner
- Dinner averages $40-45++/head
- Fee includes use of the outdoor patio for Ceremony and/or Cocktails
- 12am shut-down
- $2,000 site fee ($1,000 off-season), Food & Bev minimums may apply

The scoop for Restaurant 246:
- Outdoor patio is great for rehearsal dinners up to 45 guests for a $600 site fee, no Food & Beverage minimum
- Ultra Lounge is available with a $6,000 Food & Beverage Minimum
- Entire Restaurant is available with a $20,000 Food & Beverage Minimum

Kristina & Brandon II

I cannot say enough about the beautiful photographs Jaysun McMillin took at Kristina and Brandon's wedding. He is so talented and was really able to capture the joy of the day. The couple and the guests were awed by the beauty of Firestone Winery, and Jill and Rachel and the staff at the venue really went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect.
The Gorgeous couple ... and their dog Charger, who was the Ceremony's ringbearer and did an amazing job! Charger was so thrilled to be a part of their day and seemed to know that something special was going on.

The reception was held in the beautiful courtyard at Firestone. Nico Cervantes spent most of the afternoon sculpting the amazing cabana structure over the head table that held dozens of little lanterns and gold spray-painted manzanita trees that hung like chandeliers in the middle of the roof. Pure Joy was the caterer for this fete ... and the food and service were outstanding!

Gorgeous! Thank you to all of the fabulous vendors who worked on this wedding and made it a "magical" day for Brandon and Kristina. xo

Kristina & Brandon I

Kristina and Brandon got married at Firestone Winery on September 5th on a spectacular day. The bride described it as "magical."

When I first met Kristina, I knew it was going to be an amazing day, capped off with an awesome party. She told me she had three things lined up already ... the photographer, Jaysun McMillin, a longtime friend, a band from the San Diego area, and her dress. The photographs, as you can tell, are amaaaazing (thank you, Jaysun!). The band, I learned, absolutely rocks ... They brought the house down!! And the dress is, what Kristina and I could only describe as "rock n'roll glamour."
Check out all of the crystal beading on the straps and bodice! I love how it frames the crazy tulle on the bodice... LOVE love LOVE!Kristina and Brandon chose to get married on the Vineyard Mesa underneath the giant Oak tree. They supplied Nico (florist) with 24 rustic old bells and asked him to incorporate them into the decor. The bells later became gifts to friends and family that had meant something special to them in their relationship together.

Stay tuned for more from this fabulous wedding tomorrow! xo

Venue: Roblar Winery

I am a big fan of wine country weddings. There is something both relaxed and romantic about them. Rustic buildings and oak barrels. Huge oak trees and sprawling green lawns. Vineyards heavy with grapes as a backdrop and the sun setting over the rolling hills of the Santa Ynez Valley. Bliss.

Roblar Winery is one of the newer vineyards, and certainly one of the newer event venues of Santa Barbara wine country. It is a spectacular venue with gorgeous architecture that is modern and cozy at the same time. Last week I had a planning meeting there with Kim and Stan, who are getting married at Roblar this September. By the end of our meeting, the details were all coming together and I gotta tell you, it's going to be GORGEOUS! I am so excited for their wedding, and it couldn't be for a sweeter couple. I'll certainly share photos after the fact, but in the meantime ... If you're looking for an event venue, consider Roblar and call Beta Silva, www.roblarwinery.com.
