REAL WEDDING: MONTECITO ESTATE I

This wedding was a gift I never expected. It was mid June when I got a call from my friend Kristin at Pure Joy Catering ... one of their clients needed a wedding coordinator. For June 25th! I had the day open and love any excuse to work with Kristin and Pure Joy, so I rolled up my sleeves and jumped in.

I wish I could take credit for any of the loveliness involved, but the client (a former interior designer herself) had planned everything with impeccable taste. And she had put together an amazing team to execute the details with perfection. Just look at these gorgeous photos by Allyson Magda!

The seat cards for the ceremony are the one detail I do take credit for.
I stayed up for hours crafting these the night before!

Don't get me wrong, it's a whole lot of work walking into a wedding with less than two weeks to pull it together. But what a gift. And what a wonderful couple and family. Congratulations!!

Marriage is all about bringing out the best in each other, so after the ceremony in front of the big window, they took the course - and Jenny and Joseph Llanes tagged along!

I must admit up front that I am truly blessed. I love my clients. They are all wonderful and beautiful and I enjoy working with each of them to plan their wedding. Celina and Rob were a joy from the second we met. We clicked ... and every decision was easy. They put their faith and trust in me. And the result was truly something.

Llanes Weddings captured all of the amazing details with such elegance. Jenny and Joseph are an absolute pleasure and they make everything lovely.

A GOOD MOMENT FOR A PLANNER

I adore this photo taken of me by the talented Hanssie Trainor last Saturday. She posted it on her Facebook with the caption, "The wedding planner takes a second to admire her hard work :)"

There's not a lot of downtime when you're working a wedding. But what I love about this photo is that she captured the exact moment when everyone is in their seats for dinner, with a glass of wine in hand and the anticipation of a fabulous meal and an amazing night ahead of them, and they are happy ... Everyone is happy. And for just a moment, you get to appreciate all of the hard work that each and every vendor, plus the couple and their families, put into making that moment happen. Bliss.

It lasts literally about a second, and then it's gone as you move on to the next task at hand ... Music! Lights! "Announcing for the first time ever as husband and wife, Mr. & Mrs. ... !!"
