Nicole & Tyler II

I am smitten with these photos of Nicole & Tyler by Josh Newton. True, it was a perfect sunset and the light was incredible ... True, the couple is obviously, blatantly, unabashedly, madly in love ... And true, the dresses, flowers and accessories were all in fabulous gem tone colors that complement the sunset perfectly. But still, come on. These photos are Josh just showing off.

Enjoy!

Aren't they stunning?! I'm awed each time I look at them. And yes, I'm referring to both the couple and the photos ;-)

And now for the ridiculously beautiful wedding party ...

Nicole and Tyler put so many personal touches into this wedding. Recognizing each of their heritages from the Greek Orthodox ceremony to the traditional Irish folk band that played at their reception. Tyler hand-picked four beers to be on tap for beer tasting during cocktail hour and Nicole hand designed all of the escort cards, place cards and table numbers in beautiful gem toned papers with gold leaf based on a look she found on Paper Source... All while studying for her law degree in Michigan! This couple is as smart as sweet, and as sweet as beautiful. Love!
Stay tuned for one last sweet tidbit from Nicole and Tyler's wedding tomorrow. A DIY touch that was simply fabulous! xo

Nicole & Tyler I

I've been raving about Josh Newton's photography for quite awhile now. This wedding simply proves my point yet again - he's fabulous! I'm finally able to share with you the photos Josh took of Nicole & Tyler's wedding last August at Saint Barbara's Greek Orthodox Church in Santa Barbara. What beautiful pictures ... what a beautiful couple!

Nicole and Tyler got ready at the Inn of the Spanish Garden (which by the way, is also a beautiful place for a more intimate wedding). They chose to see each other before the wedding, but to get ready separately to make the big "unveiling" moment extra special. The next photo is when Nicole came around the corner and they saw each other in their wedding clothes for the first time. Have you ever seen a bride glow like she does? Just gorgeous. And you should have seen his face ...

The adorable flower girl handed out these colorful gerbera daisies to guests as she made her way down the aisle.

More to come tomorrow from this spectacular wedding! Thank you Josh Newton!

Jungle Themed Baby Shower Update

Chris & Tami's co-ed Baby Shower is less than three weeks away and the RSVPs are starting to roll in. This morning I thought I'd offer a sneak peek at the invitations we sent out ...

The animal cards enclosed with the reply envelope are part of a special DIY surprise project. I'll share the details and how-to with you in a blog coming soon!

Chalkboard LOVE!

I love the little details that personalize a wedding or special event. One of the easiest things to do is create signage. This weekend I'm doing a winery wedding for Kim and Stan where they have created menus for the bar describing each available wine as it applies to them (i.e. This one is Kim's favorite after a long day at work, they enjoy this one together on a hot Sunday afternoon, etc.). LOVE it!

There's a lot of different mediums to create signage, from picture frames to fabric. Be creative! One very hot trend is chalkboards ...

... And I am LOVING this one I came across researching for an upcoming event!

It's the Rococo decal available at Wall Candy Arts. You could stick this decal on anything and it would bring elegance to any wedding. It would be whimsical at an outdoor affair and glamorous framed for a fete with a handwritten message in calligraphy. Once your event is over, stick it on your fridge and even the grocery list looks fab! xo

The Wedding Salon III

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a lovely weekend.

I have an exciting week of blogging ahead, including photos to share from Jennifer and Vince's wedding this past August. But first, I'd like to wrap up my coverage and participation in The Wedding Salon last Monday with an overview of all the tables on display. Such eye candy! I hope you find some inspiration in the creativity and effort put forth ... I know I certainly have! xo

The Wedding Salon II

I wanted to share a few of the calligraphy pieces that I created for my tables at The Wedding Salon this past Monday.

These cards are a fun little touch to incorporate into your centerpiece design, or to put on a guest book, gift or escort card table. I created them in a dozen different words from "Dream" and "Love" to "Laugh," "Explore," "Wish," etc. I used a white ink on stardream metallic black cardstock for a dramatic and modern look.
I created these menu cards for my table which was designed by eventures in shades of deep reds, black and gold. The menus were printed in red font with a simple and clean font, mounted on black cardstock and then each one was individually embellished by hand with the couple's names, monogram and the flourish that sits beneath "MENU." A very clean look with classic elegance.
